There is no evidence to support the conjecture that Shakespeare ever went to Italy or anywhere else outside of England. The only mention of Italy in any of his works is in a line from one of his plays, and it’s not clear what he was referencing.
There is no record of him traveling there, and even if he had, it’s doubtful that he would have been able to speak the language fluently. Claims that he was born in Venice or lived there for part of his life are also nothing more than speculation.
Even if Shakespeare did visit Italy, it doesn’t mean that he wrote about its culture or people in his works – those facts were unknown at the time he wrote them.
