Can An F 15 Land On A Carrier?

The F-15 is not carrier capable as it was designed for air superiority and bombing missions. Tactical jets usually have a deployable hook which can be used in emergencies.

Carrier operations require specific procedures that must be followed to ensure the safety of all involved.

Can F-15 land on aircraft carrier?

The F-15N Sea Eagle was the Phoenix missile’s only confirmed kill. In order to make the F-15 suitable for aircraft carriers, McDonnel Douglas knew the platform would have to be modified.

The modifications included lengthening of wings and a raised deckhouse that increased lift capacity and allowed more weapons to be carried. With these modifications complete, it became possible for the F-15N to land on an aircraft carrier.
