BEGINNING CZECH CLASSES AT THE CHS LIBRARY

Classes in the Czech language are once again being offered for free at the CHS Library at 4117 Willowbend, Houston 77025-5706. Two levels of Czech instruction are provided. The beginning Czech class is for those who have never had a background of knowledge of the Czech language. Phonics is stressed. Members of the class work in pairs or trio groups to actively practice the material presented in class. The advanced class is taught by a native Czech speaker who encourages Czech conversation, reading and writing. All class materials are also provided free of charge. Additionally, Czech travelogues, videos, sing-alongs, and class parties are included in the class activities. At the beginning of each class period, announcements are made concerning any upcoming Czech cultural events occurring in Texas with emphasis on the Houston area.

The beginning class sessions are held every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The first class of the year will commence on September 5th. However, new arrivals are always welcomed into the class at any time because we continually are repeating and practicing material. The advanced Czech class is held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00pm to 8:30pm and again, new arrivals are always welcome to join. The only prerequisite for these classes is an interest in the Czech language and culture. For further information call:713-861-7403 or call the CHS Library at 713-349-0500.
