A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. May 23 at Wagners Funeral Home in Jordan, Minn. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. May 24 at Spirit Hill Cemetery in Jordan with Rev. Clinton Firstbrook officiating.
She was born May 31, 1917, in LoGrand Township, Iowa, to Rudolph and Anna (Bukacek) Vajgrt. She grew up and attended school in Ferguson, Iowa, graduating from Ferguson High School.
On Jan. 29, 1947, she married John Andrist at St. Mark's Cathedral in Minneapolis, Minn. They made their home in Jordan, Minn., for most of their married lives, where they were members of the united Methodist church.
During her working years, she worked for Valley Cues Inc. making pool cues. She had also worked for many years as a waitress.
For the past 10 years, she had lived in Iowa and spent the winters in Industry with her granddaughter, Lisa, and her husband, Brett. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and working in the yard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Andrist; her parents; a daughter, Judy Breeggemann; and four brothers, Rudy Vajgrt, Joe Vajgrt, Otto Vajgrt and Louis Vajgrt.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Mary Andrist of Roseville, Minn.; three grandchildren, Emily and Nicholas Andrist of Minnesota, Lisa and Brett Galle of Industry and Jim and Kelley Breeggemann of Henderson, Minn; a great-grandson, Chase Breeggemann of Henderson, Minn.; and many other friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 2729A East 29th St., Bryan, Texas 77802 or to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Jordan, Minn.
Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville and Wagners Funeral Home in
Jordan, Minn., were in charge of the arrangements.
