Arthur G. Allert Services In Gonzales

Gonzales Arthur George Allert of 1511 St. Peter Street in Gonzales, died at the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital at Ottine at 3:44 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 1986 at the age of 83 years, 9 months and 28 days.

He was born Jan. 11, 1903, in the Cheapside Community, son of William James and Agnes (Brieger) Allert. Mr. Allert had been a clerk in the Gonzales County tax office for 17 years before his retirement in 1968.

He was married on January 24, 1958 to Marjorie Person and was a member of the Memorial Hights (sic) Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Buffington Funeral Home Chapel in Gonzales with the Rev. Gerald Evans of the Memorial Hights (sic) Baptist Church and the Rev. Glen Howard of the Eastside Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Gonzales City Cemetery.

Surviving him are his wife and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Addie Allert of Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mar. 31, 1956; his father, in 1947; three brothers and three sisters, Robert Lee "R.L. Cap" Allert, May 22, 1979; William S. Allert, Albert A. Allert, Mrs. John (Mary) Nelson, Apr. 1, 1982; Mrs. Gene (Lena) O'Bart; and Mrs. Raymond (Viola) Mercer.
