Funeral services for former Precinct 1 County commissioner H. Lawrence Adamcik, 74, of La Grange were held July 20 at Sacred Heart catholic Church in La Grange with Msgr. Harry Mazurkiewicz officiating. Interment followed at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Ammansville.

Died: Monday, July 18 at his residence.
Born: July 14, 1931 in the Hostyn Community
Parents: Adolph and Henrietta (Muras) Adamcik.
Married: Rose Marie Bartosh on June 13, 1954 in Ammansville.

He served in the USAF during the Korean Conflict and was in the Air Force reserves until 1961 reaching the rank of staff sergeant. He served as a Fayette County deputy sheriff until he was appointed chief deputy. He was elected Pct. 1 Constable while working in sales at Adamcik Appliances. He worked as a salesman at La Grange Ford until he became the owner of Adamcik’s Texaco Service station. He was elected Pct. 1 county commissioner and seved in that capacity until his retirement. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight. He was a member of the KJT and the Holy Name Society, president of the Jr. Jaycees, La Grange Noon Lions Club and the La Grange VFW.

Preceded in death by: by his parents, his wife on Nov 25,2004; granddaughter, Sylvia Marie Adamcik; 1 sister, Lillian Barnes; 4 brothers, Charlie, Edwin, Johnny and Jerry Adamcik; infant twin siblings, and an infant brother.

Survived by: 1 daughter, Geraldine McDonald and husband Steve of Murphy; 2 sons, Larry Adamcik and wife Rosalinda; Fred Adamcik and wife Lisa, all of La Grange, 8 grandchildren, Kyle Adamcik and wife Tenille; Shane Adamcik and wife Lindsey; Philip Adamcik; Ryan Adamcik; Christopher McDonald; Cynthia McDonald; Lauren McDonald; Holly Barnett; 3 great-grandchildren, Cayton Adamcik, Logan Fox Adamcik, Grant Adamcik; 4 sisters, Martha Povse and husband Frank of Austin, Helen Janacek and husband Joe, twin sister, Florence Hrncir and husband Alec, all of DeSoto, Lucy Janda and husband Anthony of Houston; 4 brothers, Leon Adamcik of DeSoto, Adolph Adamcik and wife Mildred of Lanceaster, Frankie Adamcik and wife Dot of DeSoto, Benny Adamcik and wife Joann of Addison; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Adamcik of Grand Prairie, June Adamcik of Dallas, Marilyn Adamcik of Ammansville, Tommy and Bernadette Bartosh of Weimar and Michael and Dana Bartosh of Ammansville.
