History
The Lavaca County Czech Heritage Society is a non-profit and non-denominational organization whose purpose is to preserve the history, heritage, culture, and language of the Czech people of Texas. The chapter was formed in 1991. Chapter dues are $15.00 yearly.
Lavaca Czech Heritage Society Crowns Queen

On Sunday, December 19, 2010 at their annual Christmas party, the Lavaca Chapter of the Czech Heritage Society crowned Miss Caitlin Leigh Orsak as Chapter Queen. Caitlin is the daughter of Ron and Wanda Orsak of Shiner. She is a junior at Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Hallettsville. Miss Orsak is very involved in 4H and athletics. To serve as her Little Czech Sister, Caitlin has selected Kenna Kubenka, the daughter of Greg and Angie Kubenka. Kenna is in the 1st grade at Sacred Heart Catholic School.
Ashley Sulak Hermes, Miss Texas Czech Slovak Queen 2008, did the honors and crowned the new queen.
Miss Orsak will be participating in the Czech Heritage Society State Queens’ Contest in Schulenburg on Saturday, April 9, 2011. We congratulate Caitlin on becoming chapter queen and invite all to come out and support her at the State pageant in Schulenburg on April 9, 2011.
